"Globalization" is a word we have come to see and hear about all the time. It is a sweeping phenomenon affecting every aspect of our lives today, a reality that cannot be skirted, whether we like it or not.

And yet, globalization is a concept so broad and vague that it eludes the imagination of many.

The World in Our Backyard is an attempt to look at how globalization affects our lives through examples close to home. Below we present the first feature: the theme is food.
